Technopreneurship: Launching Solutions through Innovation

Programme Description:
This two-week programme immerses high school students in the end-to-end journey of building a socially impactful, tech-enabled startup. In collaboration with the HKU School of Innovation, participants learn design thinking and business fundamentals alongside accessible technology primers and AI tools. Each day blends academic sessions with mentored workshops where teams apply concepts immediately to real problems facing their communities. Students practice user research, rapid prototyping, lean business modelling, ethical and responsible tech, go-to-market planning, and fundraising (grants, crowdfunding, angels).
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the programme, students will be able to:
* Apply design thinking methodologies to identify and solve real-world problems from a human-centered approach.
* Demonstrate understanding of core business concepts, including fundraising, marketing, and business modelling.
* Utilize and experiment with emerging technologies in project development.
* Present and pitch innovative solutions to the judging panels, receiving actionable feedback.
* Collaborate effectively in teams, practicing leadership, communication, and project management skills.
