The HKU School of Innovation (I-School) is happy to join forces with the Common Core Office, the Techno-Entrepreneurship Core, and the other seven UGC-funded universities to organise the Inter-University GenAI Hackathon for the SDGs! The Launch Day, held on 19 September 2026 at HKU, attracted the participation of over 650 students, with 143 teams formed. As one of the keynote speakers, the I-School Director, Professor Hayden So, shared how to innovate with CARE: by being Curious, Agile, Resilient, and Empathetic. We look forward to the interim reports to be submitted by each team on 4 October on how they would like to use GenAI to bring profound social impact to Hong Kong!
