Bio
Jason Woodard a Professor and Co-Director of the School of Innovation (I-School) at The University of Hong Kong. His work focuses on technology strategy, platform ecosystems, educational transformation, and building bridges between academia, industry, and society.
Jason joined HKU in 2025 to help launch the I-School and prepare a new generation of innovators to tackle global challenges. He is passionate about creating learning environments where students take risks, pursue ideas that matter, and discover both their capabilities and their responsibilities as innovators.
Before coming to HKU, Jason spent a decade at Olin College of Engineering. At Olin, he worked with colleagues to develop project-based, human-centered approaches to entrepreneurial engineering education and served as Olin’s first Dean of External Programs and Partnerships. Prior to Olin, Jason was an early faculty member at Singapore Management University’s School of Computing and Information Systems, where he won awards for innovative teaching and best smile.
Jason remains affiliated with Olin as a Senior Academic Partner and continues to collaborate with partners in the region, including Shenzhen InnoX Academy and XbotPark.
